I recently had to run the new experimental feature of Google Chrome, namely Web Bluetooth.                                                                                                                          To do this, under Ubuntu 16.04, it is necessary to install a newer version of BlueZ, otherwise you will not connect to your device.

Here are the commands to enter :

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/r/readline/libreadline7_7.0-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
wget http://security.debian.org/debian-security/pool/updates/main/b/bluez/bluez_5.43-2+deb9u1_amd64.de
sudo dpkg -i libreadline7_7.0-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i bluez_5.43-2+deb9u1_amd64.deb

Next, reboot your computer or just restart BlueZ service (and also restart Chrome).

Once in Google Chrome, don’t forget to enable the experimental web platform flag :

chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features

and to relaunch Chrome one more time.
